About Us

Some people are into sports, some people are into travel, we are into West Highland White Terriers, those loving, loyal, and sometimes, fiercely independent little white dogs. They are our pets, our friends, our hobby, and our “kids”. We show them in Conformation, Obedience, and Performance Events and have bred several litters.

It all started with Woolvey. Woolvey was our first Westie. We got her in 1976 at 8 weeks of age. Just a pet, she was our constant companion for nearly 18 years. During those eighteen years she lived with us in the Buckeye State, the Land of Enchantment, the Centennial State, the Golden State, the Empire State, and finally, the Peach State. A classic couch potatoe, her favorite sport was

riding in a wooden “Black and White” scotch box strapped to the back of my bicycle. Oh, how she loved to ride! She would lean to one side just to capture a little wind in her face. I can almost hear her; “faster dad, faster”. She rests in our back yard here in Georgia.

When Woolvey died of natural causes (in my arms), we just had to get another Westie. Although Woolvey came from a reputable breeder and was a beautiful dog, this time we wanted the highest quality dog we could find. We were advised that if we wanted a quality dog, we would probably have to promise (under contract) to show in Conformation to a Champion title. Little did we know at the time, that decision, made so lightly, would change out lives. We purchased Raleigh, from the renown Mac-Ken-Char kennel in 1994. Raleigh personifies the breed in appearance, temperament and intellect. He earned his Champion title from the 9-12 month Puppy Class with two group placements. As a matter of fact, Raleigh earned his first major, and a Group 4 placement in his first show at 8 months! Oh yeah, it was also my first time in the show ring as well!

Since then, Raleigh has earned a CDX in obedience and a JE in Earthdog. The other Westies we purchased as puppies, Ali and Tori are also finished Champions and have each had two litters. We are now showing some of their puppies in Conformation.

Both Gilda and I are members of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Greater Atlanta, the West Highland White Terrier Club of America, the Atlanta Terrier Club, and the Atlanta Kennel Club. We’ve held officer, board, and committee chair positions in several of the clubs.
